Today's guest is Marina Martianova, founder and CEO of Seamm
Marina is a serial entrepreneur who launched her first successful startup at the age of 21 and grew it to an over $1M run rate with $2.5K initial investments. Now, she is the founder and CEO of Seamm, a U.S.-based startup, the first to create digital twins of real-world fashion collections for virtual worlds.
In 2016, when she was 21, she founded Candice, a foodtech startup for desserts with no added sugar. She expanded it to 80 cities with over 14,000 distribution locations including clients like Starbucks, Metro Cash & Carry and small coffee shops in NYC like Lion’s Milk in Williamsburg. In addition to growing the run rate to over $1M, she increased revenues in the second year by 343%, in the third year by 72%, in the fourth by 253%, and exited in 2020.
In 2021, Marina founded Seamm with the mission of becoming a one-stop shop for fashion brands, gaming companies and users and bridging the gap between real-world fashion and virtual worlds, empowering users to fully express their identity in every reality. Marina has dreamt of becoming a fashion designer since she was three years old, embodying her desires by creating clothes for Barbies. Since she grew up with an older brother, they always played video games together. This is how the passion for both industries started. When she exited Candice, she started thinking of an opportunity to connect her two favorite markets into successful business and met an investor that believed in her and was ready to support her ideas.
