Hello everyone and welcome to the Web3 CMO Stories podcast. My name is Jury Biras and I'm your podcast host, and today is a special episode because ECC has finished and I wanted to bring a special coverage about this event, which was for the first time maybe not the last time, who knows in Brussels, in Belgium, in my country Maybe you heard I will be moving to Lisbon in August, so this was just in time. I would say we had an exciting start. The Ethereum community had taken over Brussels and brought an electrifying atmosphere to the city. Let's jump into the highlights of these sessions. Lily Liu, president of the Solana Foundation, kicked things off with a compelling talk about the evolution of technology through Solana's framework. She emphasized Solana's unique ability to solve the blockchain dilemma by offering performance, capital and liquidity. Next up, titus Kapilian from Civic discussed the growing threat of artificial intelligence in the reptile space and the importance of permissioned smart contracts for enhancing on-chain security.

I also attended two exciting side events. The first one was ETC Founders and Investors Branch, organized by Reem Salmi, and the second one was the Web3 Community Conference by NFT Factory and Ethan Pierce. It was great reconnecting with Snacks, the founder of PizzaDao, who was one of the panelists during the event. The second day was also jam-packed with groundbreaking announcements and discussions. Ilya Poloshukin from Near Protocol emphasized the need of a user-owned AI and internet, combining the benefits of AI and Web3 to create a more balanced digital landscape. Patrick Hansen from Circle shared his predictions for the crypto landscape in the EU by 2025-2026, forecasting significant growth and regulatory clarity. I also had the pleasure of recording postcast episode Ciao from flockio and Relic from Stratos, and then the day after with Sandy from Unstoppable Domains, and the episode with ConsenSys has been moved to a later date. Third day was also spectacular because we had special guests at the event Vitalik Beterin, co-founder of Ethereum, and he arrived at the event soaking wet due to the rain there was actually a storm above Brussels but won everyone's hearts with his humility and dedication, despite adverse weather conditions and no security entourage. Vitalik arrived by bus to deliver a compelling talk on emerging innovations in DeFi. His appearance sparked a lot of admiration on social media, with fans praising his grounded nature and commitment to the community.

I can continue and go on with all the other talks. There are a lot, but for me, the most important thing always is to yeah meet old and new friends, and this time I saw two Belgians, which is quite rare in the Reptree space, two Belgians. They recognized me and it was good to connect with them. Normally when I go to an event it's outside of Belgium. Then I go to a lot of side events in the evening. This time it was a bit different because I live here. So it was a different experience, but still a lot of fun. And then there was, at the end of the event, big news, because next year ETC will be in Cannes. So if you want to hear more about that, yeah, subscribe to my podcast, subscribe to the newsletter.
