Web3 CMO Stories
Marketing Theater Is Canceled, Sorry | S5 E41
Two launches, one clear direction: make technology usable and make marketing accountable. We open with the debut of RYO's LIFE Wallet, a super wallet designed for everyone. Start in seconds, sign in with biometrics, recover securely, and send crypto as easily as a text. With a roadmap that includes a global mall for direct payments, staking, NFTs, stablecoins, and AI assistance, the vision is practical: move crypto from speculation to everyday value.
Then we turn to "The Future CMO," a 90-minute short read with a big thesis: the next marketing leader operates like a Chief Value Officer. No more marketing theater measured by impressions and likes. We outline eight dimensions of the modern CMO, ranging from narrative excellence with AI as a creative amplifier to content ecosystems that scale, from genuine community building to rigorous measurement of perception, trust, and outcomes. It’s a blueprint for margin resilience, revenue impact, and real accountability to the board.
Along the way, we share the tools and community that make change stick: a Trust ROI calculator, a community health score framework, curated AI prompts for speed and quality, plus mastermind calls and events like Sintra Synergies featuring industry voices such as Mark Schaefer. The through line is simple: lead with trust, master technology without losing human authenticity, and design for outcomes that matter. If that future speaks to you, subscribe, share this episode with a colleague, and leave a quick review. What shift will you make first?

This is what Philip Kotler said about my new book, The Future CMO. It's the best update that I've read on the role and work of CMOs. A must read for leaders ready to embrace financial accountability. Philip Kotler. Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Web3 CMO Stories podcast. My name is Joeri Billast, I'm your podcast host. Today is a solo episode. It's a really special week for me. Actually, a double exciting week. First, our podcast sponsor Rio just launched the life wallet on September 30th. And second, yesterday, October 1st, was the official launch of my new book, The Future CMO. So plenty of big news to share with you today. Let's start with RYO's life wallet launch. You can check it out at lifewallet.app. So what is it? It's a super wallet for everyone. Simple and secure. Millions of people are stepping into the digital asset world, and the challenge has always been accessibility and peace of mind. The life wallet was designed to remove the complications and make crypto usable for every type of user. No confusing setup, you can start in seconds. Send crypto as easily as sending a text message, whether it's Realcoin or another asset. And soon there will be a global mall where you can buy products and services and pay directly from your wallet. Security Snacks Gen 2, biometric login, 2FA, secure recovery, and more features are coming. Staking, NFTs, stable coins, AI assistance, and more. In short, this is the wallet that can truly bring crypto mainstream. Again, the site is lifewallet.app But that's not all. The other big milestone this week on October 1st, my book, The Future CMO, officially launched. First of all, I want to say thank you to some people who made this book possible and who supported me. Philip Kotler, the father of modern marketing, for endorsing my book with an incredible quote. Christian Sarker, co-founder of the Marketing Journal, who highlighted how the seam of the future must be a regenerative leader. Jim McLeod, Melissa Patrick, Matt Wilkinson and Erica Held all gave me valuable feedback that helped polish and sharpen the book. Jim also helped me with the cover and he made sure that the cover went from good to great. Also, want to give a very special shout out to Freddie Arias, who went the extra mile with extensive notes and suggestions. So thanks to all of them, this book became what it is today. Now, what is the book about? The book isn't long. It's a short read, as I call it. It's actually the same length as my previous book that I published three years ago, The 5K Challenge for Solopreneurs. Now, this book is for a different audience, a future CMO, but has the same length. So as I said, it isn't long, but that's intentional. It's a 90-minute short read meant actually to uh start a movement. It's not the end, it's the beginning. The readers also get access to exclusive tools via my future CMO community, which is built on the school platform, which you can uh know from the launch that uh Alex Hormozi did not so long ago. And so the readers get access to the Trust ROI calculator, the community health score framework, lots of prompts for AI tools like ChatGPT, and I will also list a lot of tools that I'm using when it comes to AI and others, and keep adding more. The book also forms the foundation for events like Cintura Synergies in April, where I can already reveal that Mark Schaefer will be joining us a special guest. That event will be around marketing and AI. And in the meantime, if you get into the community, you will get value from the mastermind calls that we will be doing between the launch of the book and the retreat in April. So, now what is the core message of the book? What is the future CMO really about? Well, it's about the chief marketing officer role that is being transformed in this era of AI, web three, new expectations around trust and accountability. No more marketing theater, measured in impressions and likes. The boards are demanding real contributions to growth, marginal resilience. That's why in the book I describe eight key dimensions that define the next generation CMO, including the shift from Brand Stewart to Chief Value Officer, the new value equation, perception, trust, and outcome, building genuine communities, not just audiences, narrative excellence with AI as a creative amplifier, systematic content ecosystems that scale, strategic audacity, human judgment, courage and creativity, the CMO as a marketing technologist, bridging strategy and innovation, leading organizational transformation in times of resistance and change. The conclusion? Well, the future CMOs must lead with trust, master technology without losing human authenticity, and create smart feasibility that drives business impact. Those who succeed won't just run the marketing department, they will shape the future direction of organizations and industries. So, yes, this is a truly special week for me, the launch of the Life Wallet and the Lange of the Future CMO. If you want to learn more about the wallet, head over to LifeWallet.app If you want to get the book, it's available on Amazon. Both ebook and paperback versions are available. And through the book, you also find your way into my future CMO community where we will continue this journey together. Thanks so much for tuning in, and I'll see you in the next episode of Web3 CMO Stories.
